Surgical management in retroperitoneal fibrosis: beyond ureterolysis
نویسندگان
چکیده
Abstract Background Retroperitoneal fibrosis can be associated with bilateral dense and extensive periureteral adhesions. When ureterolysis could not successfully performed due to disease extent severity, elaborate ureteral reconstructive procedures will required. Case presentation A young male retroperitoneal presented hydroureteronephrosis. The involvement was adhesions were dense. He managed by laparoscopic boari flap ureteroneocystostomy on one renal unit nephrectomy autotransplantation the other unit. Conclusions Ureterolysis is feasible in all cases of fibrosis. Extensive reconstruction without using intestinal segments feasible. Minimally invasive surgical employed such scenarios also.

Retroperitoneal fibrosis associated with propranolol: a case report; is corticosteroid administration necessary after ureterolysis?
INTRODUCTION Retroperitoneal fibrosis is a rare disease. It can be primary (Ormond's disease) or secondary to inflammation, malignancy or some drugs. Beta-adrenergic blockers including propranolol can cause the retroperitoneal fibrosis disease. CASE A 44-year-old woman who was taking propranolol for 13 years came to our center with complaints of oliguria and uremia symptoms (malaise, nausea a...
متن کاملSurgical management of retroperitoneal and pelvic sarcomas.
Management of retroperitoneal sarcomas presents technical and oncological challenges. Imaging is crucial for diagnosis and to define local tumor extent. Complete gross resection at initial presentation is the best chance for cure, but there is controversy as to how this can be best achieved. There is a long-term risk of local recurrence, which is best treated with repeat resection if feasible. ...

During the Great War, the French surgeon Alexis Carrel, in collaboration with the English chemist Henry Dakin, devised an antiseptic treatment for infected wounds. This paper focuses on Carrel's attempt to standardise knowledge of infected wounds and their treatment, and looks closely at the vision of surgical skill he espoused and its difference from those associated with the doctrines of scie...
متن کاملIdiopathic retroperitoneal fibrosis: a case of unilateral lesion.
Here we report a case of idiopathic retroperitoneal fibrosis, a unilateral case, which resulted in remission by ureterolysis with intraperitonealization. A 24-year-old female was hospitalized because of hydronephrosis. Many examinations were performed with the suspicion of malignant disease, but no apparent cause was detected. We suspected idiopathic retroperitoneal fibrosis and performed surgi...

UNLABELLED The aim of this study is to evaluate effective prognostic factors in the evolution of patients with retroperitoneal fibrosis and to establish the validity of fractal analysis in determining the disease severity in these patients. MATERIAL AND METHODS This study included 19 patients (M/F: 5/14) treated for idiopathic retroperitoneal fibrosis and bilateral obstructive renal failure b...
